Brotherhood
The Brotherhood of Congregation B'nai Yisrael was founded in 1999
and is committed to being an active participant in the life of the temple.
The Brotherhood's mission includes working together to further the
goals of the temple, encouraging service to the temple and the community,
advocating social concern, and fostering social interaction. To accomplish
these goals, the Brotherhood has and will continue to sponsor events and
programs at the temple and assist the congregation in any way that it
can.
The Brotherhood is privileged to present speakers of national renown
such as a sports psychologist who spoke on coaching children in sports
and a professional photographer who explained digital photography. Other
activities have included a special theatre night with dinner
and a performance at Purchase College by the comedian, Robert Klein. In
addition, the Brotherhood hosts a dinner for the men of the congregation,
ushers at the High Holiday Services, assists at the CBY blood drive, and
sponsors a course on CPR.
