A Community of Learning
Congregation B'nai Yisrael seeks to cultivate a love for and understanding
of Judaism, its traditions and culture. To that end we have worked to
create a model Religious School for grades one through ten where we teach
our children to To See The World Through Jewish Eyes, an extraordinary
educational curriculum we helped develop for the Reform movement. Pre-schoolers
and their parents are invited to participate in the monthly T.O.T program
(Teaching Our children Torah) while our young people prepare for Bar and
Bat Mitzvah and Confirmation with the help of the Religious School, Rabbis
and Cantor, and staff.
The Adult Education Program offerings are increasingly many and varied,
including courses in Hebrew reading and Torah study, sessions covering
topics such as What it Means to be Human, and Text in
the City classes in New York City.
Because of Rabbi Krantz's wide-ranging associations and activities
nationally and internationally, Congregation B'nai Yisrael is particularly
fortunate to be able to present important guest speakers and authors delivering
exciting and provocative lectures and an inside look at their thoughts.
