A Community with Spirit
Judaism celebrates a grand procession through time. At Congregation
B'nai Yisrael, we rejoice in the celebration of every step we take in
the march of Jewish history. We spend our Sabbaths, our holy days, our
festivals, our commemorations, our births, our b'nai mitzvah, our confirmations,
our weddings, and even our losses the only way our tradition knows how:
together. Our minyan - the basic unit of Jewish community for over two
thousand years - seeks to integrate each of us into a unified whole. This
togetherness is the route of our spirituality: individuals, people seeking
connection with all that is transcendent in our world, help each other
find this spirituality through that which is most near to them. Our community
spirit is found in the songs we sing in our sanctuary, in the justice
we try to bring to the world around us, and in the meeting of each of
our faces with the face of another.
