The need has never been greater than it is right now. The pandemic and associated economic crisis has put a strain on all of us. It is easy to forget that for as difficult as times have been for each of us, there are those less fortunate who depend on the kindness of others year in and year out to help them celebrate the holidays.

Congreation B'nai Yisrael, in partnership with the UJA Federation of New York have identified two organizations in our community that are most in need.

CBY Supports Hope's Door:
Hope’s Door prevents, responds to, and partners to end domestic and intimate partner violence and other forms of abuse. We provide a 24/7/365 crisis, support and information hotline (the gateway to all our services) as well as emergency shelter to ensure individuals are safe from the threat of violence. Engaging in domestic violence education and training in schools and community centers throughout Westchester County, Hope’s Door offers counseling, advocacy and legal services for victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. All services are provided free of charge to victims and survivors; Hope's Door relies on the generosity of private and corporate donors as well as federal, state and county grants.

CBY Supports The Cottage School:
The Cottage School provides comprehensive care to thousands of children, young people and families who come from New York’s diverse communities. Since 1822, we have embraced those who need us most — abused, neglected and traumatized young people who are struggling with poverty, developmental disabilities and complex mental illness.
