Beth Mayers - Trustee
Matt and I first joined CBY when our daughter Samantha was starting 3rd grade. The idea of the easy transportation was a big selling point for two parents working full-time in the city. But, more substantively, we were looking for a place that reminded us of our own personal Reform traditions, and a place in our community that would welcome us. We found all that and more in CBY. Both girls were Bat Mitzvah’ed at CBY – the older one in Israel on a CBY- sponsored trip, the younger one in the beautiful sanctuary. But these are just two of the highlights of our years with CBY. Over time, I became involved with the Social Action and Caring Committee because I believe strongly in the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam and literally repairing the world…one step at a time, one individual at a time. What better place to begin than in my own community. I am delighted to be serving on the Board of Trustees, and I know that CBY will continue to be successful in providing a welcoming, warm, Jewish home in the Armonk community.
