Born and raised on Long Island, where everything I needed was within an arm’s length, moving to northern Westchester in 2001 with three little boys felt like moving to remote upstate. Driving fifteen minutes on narrow, winding roads to get anywhere took some getting used to. So, when we learned that at CBY, the afterschool bus would take our boys from school directly to the synagogue for the JID program, I was sold. It didn’t take long however, for me to discover how much more CBY had to offer!

Over the years, CBY has become an integral part of our lives. Growing up a “high holy day” Jew, I never knew how enriching engagement in my synagogue could be. Entering CBY’s warm, vibrant and welcoming community opened a whole new Jewish experience for me:  first, by motivating me to become an adult Bat Mitzvah and then to join the choir and various committees.

As my boys graduated from Byram Hills and my PTSA “career” ended, I have become more involved at CBY. I am especially proud to have been a member of the Search Committees for our amazing Rabbi and Cantor. Our congregation has been flourishing under Rabbi Strom and Cantor Lilah’s energetic, innovative, dedicated, and loving leadership. I can’t wait to see where their collaboration will take us!

It is such an exciting time be on CBY’s Board of Trustees and I am thrilled to be a part of it!
